Who can apply

The information on this page applies to both the Notur and NorStore projects.

Individuals and groups from the following organizations can apply for access to the resources in the national eInfrastructure.

  • Norwegian universities and university colleges
  • Meteorological Institute (met.no)
  • Research centers
  • Entities or projects financed by the Ministry of Education and Research (Kunnskapsdepartementet) or the Research Council of Norway (Norges forskningsråd)
  • Industrial parties who contribute to the funding of the eInfrastructure
Individuals and groups from these organizations can also apply for advanced user support.

The applicant must normally hold a permanent position at his/her organization. Master students, PhD students, postdoctoral students, and guest researchers typically cannot apply directly, but should do this via a colleague (e.g., supervisor) with a permanent position at the organization.

The resources in the national eInfrastructure are available for research and education, but written agreements may be established with UNINETT Sigma for other usage of the resources.

Organizations that do not fall in the above categories, but that would like to have access, should contact UNINETT Sigma. If you are uncertain whether you (or your institution) can apply, contact UNINETT Sigma.
