The participants to the NOTUR2006 conference were given an evaluation form on which they were asked a number questions about various aspects of the conference. The overall impression of the 45 returned evaluation forms is that the audience in general was satisfied with the NOTUR2006 conference: 26 participants evaluated “the conference as a whole” as high and the remaining 19 evaluated it as medium. The participants expressed satisfaction with the web site, information and service during the conference. Of the 45 respondents, as many as 34 reported high satisfaction with the Conference Dinner at Bergen Aquarium, 2 evaluated it as medium and 9 did not attend the dinner. When asked if we could have spent more time on any subjects, some expressed that they wanted more technical and scientific aspects, more about applications and more infrastructure. Regarding spending less time on any subjects, some expressed that they wanted less presentations about administration and organization. And some wanted less about infrastructure.
Other comments: “There should have been female invited speakers. It should not be difficult to find at least one” “Disturbing noise from the ventilation system in the ceiling” “Focus on the things who matters. Too many parallel, overlapping organizations talks about how they tie together the same sites in new ways. More technology, science and practical issues. Fewer budgets, proposals and strategies to keep administration out of unemployment” “The dinner was very good - penguins, choir, and really good food. Kudos!” “The conference dinner was absolutely great” |
