The meeting is intended for everyone that works with compute- and data-intensive applications. A list of international speakers will present challenging applications and advanced computing technologies that enable new ways for doing science. The meeting is also an opportunity to discuss with colleagues and share experiences, opinions, and viewpoints on how the national infrastructure for computational science can serve the scientific community as well as possible, and how the national and international infrastructures should look like in the future. The main themes of NOTUR2006 are Grand Challenge applications in Computational Science, Infrastructures, Grid Computing, and e-Science. The 2-day meeting consists of invited lectures, a poster session, and a round-table discussion. The University of Bergen hosts the NOTUR2006 meeting, May 11-12, 2006 in Bergen. NOTUR2006 is supported by the Research Council of Norway, UNINETT Sigma AS, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Trondheim), the University of Bergen, the University of Oslo, the University of Tromsø, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, and a number of vendors.
