Cluster Management Workshop 9/6

This year the NOTUR programme has been increased and starts with a Cluster Workshop on Wednesday June 9th. Invited speaker is Greg Bruno from SDSC/NPACI, one of the principals behind the ROCKS Cluster Management Toolkit. The workshop starts at Realfagsbygget at 11:00 and ends approximatly at 17:00. The workshop will cover important issues with building, administrating and maintaining large clusters. Different approaches to Cluster management and best practice issues will be discussed.

The second half of the workshop will be a hands on session where one can install and experiment with clusters. For this purpose we will set up a test lab with machines based on a wide variety of cpu technologies, Xeon/P4, Itanium2, Opteron and PowerPC. We are very grateful to HP and IBM which has graciously provided us with cluster machines that will be installed in the test lab.

After the workshop, there will be bowling and pizza at Tromsø Bowlingsenter.

Please watch this page for more detailed information. A printable version of The NOTUR 2004 flyer can be found here.
