Notur: Call for CPU-hour projects (2010.2)

The allocations by the Research Council of Norway on the High-Performance Computing facilities of the Notur project expire September 30, 2010.

The deadline for applying for allocations for period 2010.2 (October 1, 2010 - March 31, 2011) is August 26, 2010.

Projects whose current allocations on the Notur facilities expire September 30, but that want to continue using the facilities after this date, must apply to this call. Applicants that already applied for access for the period 2010.2 in a previous call need not apply.

This call is only for (regular) projects that need up to 1 000 000 Allocation Units per (6-month) allocation period.

If you intend to submit an application for a new project, you are encouraged to contact UNINETT Sigma (sigma@uninett.no) at least one week before submission. (This is to make sure that all criteria are satisfied at the time of submission.)

Applicants will be informed around September 20. Earliest project start is October 1.

The next call for regular and large applications is scheduled to be published in January 2011 for projects starting April 2011.

NorStore: Call for storage projects

The resources of the NorStore project are available for general usage. National user communities with large (and long-term) storage needs are encouraged to apply for access to these resources.

The deadline for application is August 26, 2010 (for projects starting October 1).

Projects that got access to the NorStore resources in 2009/2010 and whose access expires in 2010, must apply in case they would like to have prolonged access to the resources.

Call for applications for advanced user support

The deadline for advanced user support projects (call 2010.2) is August 26, 2010. Advanced support is typically used for enhancing the usability, performance and scalability of applications, but also targets applications from new user communities. It is also possible to apply for advanced support in combination with applications for allocations on the Notur and NorStore resources, e.g., to prepare your scientific applications for the national compute and storage resources, enable your applications to be used in a compute/data grid environment, or for support for applications with complex data management/flow.
