Notur call for CPU-hour projects (2009.1)

The CPU-hour allocations given out by the Notur project on the HPC facilities at the Norwegian universities expire March 31, 2009. The deadlines for applying for new allocations are

  • For regular applications: March 2, 2009 (for projects starting April 1). Regular applications are for projects up to 1 000 000 Allocation Units and upto at most 20% of the national quota on a facility.
  • For large applications: February 23, 2009 (for projects starting April 1). Large applications are for projects for 1 000 000 or more Allocation Units per allocation period or for at least 20% of the national quota on a facility per allocation period.

The on-line application procedure can be found on http://www.notur.no/quotas/apply/

Information about the national compute resources can be found on http://www.notur.no/hardware/

For more information, please contact UNINETT Sigma (sigma@uninett.no).

In combination with this, it is also possible to apply for allocations on the national storage resources and for advanced user/application support:

NorStore: Call for storage projects

The storage resources in the new NorStore project are available for general usage from April 1. User communities with large (and long-term) storage needs are encouraged to apply for access to these resources.

The deadline for application is March 2, 2009 (for projects starting April 1).

The on-line application procedure can be found on http://www.norstore.no/access/apply/

Call for applications for advanced user support

The deadline for advanced user support projects (call 2009.1) is March 2, 2009. Advanced support is typically used for enhancing the usability, performance and scalability of applications, but also targets applications from new user communities. It is also possible to apply for advanced support in combination with applications for allocations on the Notur and NorStore resources, e.g., to prepare your scientific applications for the national compute and storage resources, enable your applications to be used in a compute/data grid environment, or for support for applications with complex data management/flow.

The call can be found on http://www.notur.no/support/advanced/
