Workshop on Nordic eInfrastructure Collaboration, Oslo airport, 25-26 February 2009

In the framework of NORIA-net, NordForsk is funding a project on eScience, "The Nordic eScience Initiative" (eNORIA). Project participants represent the Academy of Finland, the Danish Natural Science Research Council, the Research Council of Norway, RANNIS and the Swedish Research Council.

To learn from each other's experiences and to discuss eInfrastructure collaboration, eNORIA organizes a workshop from lunch to lunch 25-26 February 2009 at Radisson SAS Gardermoen (Oslo airport), Norway.

The aim of the workshop is to offer a forum to allow participants to collectively address eInfrastructure topics in areas where the research community in the Nordic region could benefit from a joint Nordic approach. Within infrastructure, a Task Force on Sustainable Nordic Grid Collaboration has already been established. Another proposed action is to investigate the opening of national data repositories for Nordic research groups. Further infrastructure related issues being addressed are "green computing" and cross-border sharing of resources.

The workshop is from 12:00 to 18:00 on February 25 and from 9:00 to 13:00 on February 26. The workshop is free of charge, includes two lunches and a dinner. Participants are expected to cover their own travel and hotel costs. Hotel accommodation may be arranged (hotel cost is 1645 NOK). Hotel arrangement will be done by web survey after pre-registration.
