PRACE arranges Winter School in February 2009 in Athens

PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced for Advanced Computing, arranges a Petascale Computing Winter School in Athens on 9-13 February 2009.

The PRACE Petascale Computing Winter School will take place at the OTE Academy in Athens, hosted by the Greek Research and Technology Network. This event is aimed at researchers and students who will potentially become users of future Petascale systems in Europe. Morning lectures and discussions will be followed by hands-on training in the afternoon.

The Winter School is part of the PRACE education and training programme. Following the sucessful PRACE Summer School held in Sweden this August, the Winter School will cover advanced topics like multi-core programming, next generation high performance computing languages, and parallel debugging tools. The obective is to enable students to solve problems in scalable scientific computing.

Registration for the Winter School will open in December 2008.

More information about the Winter School can be found on the Winter School website.
