Call for CPU-hour projects and advanced user support

The CPU-hour grants on the supercomputer facilities of the Notur project expire April 1, 2008.

The upcoming deadline, for LARGE applications only, is January 22, 2008 for projects starting April 1 (period 2008.1). The deadline for REGULAR applications is February 28, 2008. The deadline for LARGE applications is earlier because these applications are subject to a reviewing process to ensure efficient use of the resources.

LARGE applications are for more than 1 000 000 Allocation Units or for more than 20% of the available capacity of a single system.

The Notur hardware resources are described here. As of period 2008.1, two new large compute resources are available. These are stallo, a 5632-core cluster at UiT and hexagon, a 2776-core Cray XT4 at UiB.

NOTE: Stallo at UiT is now already available and projects in need for additional computing time are encouraged to apply and start porting applications early.

The on-line application procedure for computing time can be found here.

The deadline for advanced user support projects (call 2008.1) is February 28, 2008.
