TRE
Full name: tre.bccs.uib.no A summary is provided below. More details can be found on UiB's local pages. This installation consists of three p690 shared-memory nodes, each with 32 power4 (64-bit) processors. Two of the nodes have 64 GB memory and one node has 192 GB memory. The three nodes are connected with Gigabit Ethernet. The nodes have a common pool of 7 TByte disk. It is only possible to run applications within a node, not across nodes. The machine is intended for large parallel OpenMP or MPI applications that require tight coupling (fast communication) between the processes. Typical usage of this resource is for jobs that require 4-16 CPUs. Single CPU large memory jobs (with memory needs larger than 4 GB) and I/O-intensive jobs also run well on this machine. A tape-robot for long-term storage of large data files is connected to tre and is accessed via a special filesystem (/migrtate) for automatic data migration. NOTE: tre was taken out of the Notur system on October 1, 2007. Questions regarding tre should be sent to support-uib@notur.no. Other details:
