Titan is a compute cluster with both Sun/Opteron nodes. Currently, the Notur part of system has the following configuration:

  • 304 dual-cpu quad-core SUN X2200 Opteron nodes (total 2432 cores), 2.2 Ghz, and 8 - 16 GB RAM and 250 - 1000 GB disk on each node
  • 3 eight-cpu quad-core Sun X4600 AMD Opteron nodes (total 96 cores), 2.5 Ghz, and 128, 128 and 256 GB memory, respectively
  • Infiniband interconnect

Titan is well-suited for most MPI applications with moderate memory requirements per processor core, and for shared-memory OpenMP applications using up to four processors.
