A summary is provided below. Detailed information can be found on Notur's technical support pages.
A summary is provided below.
Snowstorm is a cluster of 100 nodes, each with four Itanium2 (64-bit) processors and 4 GB of memory and 144 GB internal disk. There is also a common storage pool of 2 TB. The nodes are interconnected with Infiniband and Gigagit Ethernet, and 25 nodes also have SCI/Dolphin interconnect.
Snowstorm is well-suited for most MPI applications with moderate memory requirements per CPU, and for shared-memory OpenMP applications using up to four processors.
NOTE: snowstorm was taken out of the Notur system on April 1, 2008. The system is superseeded by stallo. Questions regarding snowstorm should be sent to support-uit@notur.no.
