Full name: gridur.ntnu.no

A summary is provided below. More details can be found on NTNU's local pages.

Gridur is a shared-memory system with ccNUMA architecture. The complete installation consists of two shared-memory nodes called gridur and embla. Both nodes have r14000 (64-bit) processors. The nodes have a common disk pool of 5 Tbyte, set up as a global file system with CXFS. Both nodes are compute servers.

Gridur and embla both have a large number of processors and a low-latency high-capacity interconnect. The machines are well-suited for highly parallel MPI and OpenMP applications. The shared-memory architecture also makes them well-suited for large-memory jobs. The systems are aging and the processor performance is not as high as on more recently installed systems.

NOTE: gridur and embla were taken out of the Notur system on December 31, 2006. Questions regarding gridur/embla should be sent to support-ntnu@notur.no.
